Listen and you shall learn

I know I was planning to revolutionize this blog, and haven’t forgot yet, it’s in progress - but, I stumbled upon this amazing video of J.K. Rowling speaking at the Harvard Commencement a year or so ago.

Now, quite a few people around me have ideas of what I should do, what I could do, and what I’m doing with my life - I suppose that’s how it is when you got caring friends and family around you. Their arguments vary though, but all of them are based on experiences; what else is there to base your advice on? If you follow the tree of argument, it will always lead to an experience (if we can agree on the definition of an experience), some experiences better than others.

When other people give me advice, I appreciate it, I really do. I mean, people sharing their knowledge and experience of life, for me to take advantage of, you cannot buy that for money, such advice costs time and effort, years and hard work. Looking back at some of the advice I’ve got, I can’t stop wondering about the way people serve their advice, and I think it is at least as important as the advice itself - something that I’ll remember from now on, something that you as an expert on life should also remember. I was moved by the way J.K. Rowling serves her advice; watch the movie below and you shall learn.
